Education:

2000 - 2004: Ph.D. Student in Economics, with the Diploma d’Estudis Avançats in the speciality of International Economics and Economic Development at the University of Barcelona.

1999 - 2004:   B. Sc. Degree in Business Management and Administration at the University of Barcelona.

1.994 – 2.000: B. Sc. in Economics by the University of Barcelona.

1.998 – 1.999: Economic Curse in Norway at the Norges Handelshoyskole (Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration) in the Erasmus framework.

 

Languages:

Spanish and Catalan as native languages, good level in English, and some notions of Norwegian and French.

 

Working Experience:

Nov 2001 - Nowadays: BEMMFISH project (BioEconomic Modelling of Mediterranean Fisheries) inside the European Commission Research Program 

Dec 2000 – Oct 2001: Assistant at the Departament of Política Económica y Estructura Económica Mundial of the University of Barcelona, working as a research assistant in “Estudios de Economía Pesquera” in the projects: A Spanish Management Case: The 300’s Fleet and Barriers to the Free Trade in Third Countries.

 Sep 1999 – Jun 2000: Research Assistant of the Gabinete de Economía del Mar of the University of Barcelona in the European project “Analyse du marche merlu et implications pour la gestion des pêches dans le golfe du Lion et Golfe de Gascogne”. The project had 3 years duration, from 1998 to 2000. This research was coordinated by Denis Bailly and has the register number 4196.

10 to 14 March 2003: Attended the Ph.D. course on International Trade, Resources and Environment taught by Professor Graciela Chichilnisky, Professor Rögnvaldur Hannesson and Professor Niels Nannerup in Esbjerg (Denmark)

3 & 4 March 2003: XIII Working Group ad hoc about socio-economics indicators of the Sub-Committee of social sciences and economics of the Committee Scientific Consultative of the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean, hold at the University of Barcelona.

30 to 31 January 2003: assisted to the VIII Reunión del Foro Científico de la Pesca Española en el Mediterráneo, hold in Palma de Mallorca.

19 to 21 of November 2002: Assisted to the International experts Meeting “Mediterrània Esculls artificials” (Artificial reefs) that took place at the Museu Marítim of Barcelona.

18 & 19 October 2002: Attended the Conference: La gestione della pesca in presenza de sistemi desicionali multilivello: il caso del Mediterraneo (Conference: Fishery Management and Multi-Level Decisional Systems: the Mediterranean case) hold in Salerno (Italy) by IREPA.

September – October 2002: Participated at the Workshop on Theoretical and Practical issues of Bio-Economic Modelling in Roskilde, (Denmark) presenting the mefisto bio-economical model and the project BEMMFISH.

Course 2001 – 2002: Gave practical lectures on the subject Economía i Gestión de la Actividad Pesquera at the University of Barcelona.

May 2002: Participated in the XIII meeting of the Socio-Economics Scientific Subcommittee (SCSES) of the Scientific Consultative Committee of the General Commission for the Mediterranean Fisheries (CGPM) hold in Barcelona.

March 2002: Participated en la XIVth Annual Conference de The European Association of Fisheries Economists (EAFE) hold on the Economics Faculty of the University of Algarve (Faro - Portugal), presenting the lecture “How Hake Imports Have Affected the Spanish Hake Market”.

January 2002: Participated in the 1st Conference on Bio-Economic Modelling of Mediterranean Fisheries hold in Barcelona.

July 2001: Collaborator Professor in “Curso Intensivo de Economía y Gestión Pesquera”, in the framework of the working program of the Subcommittee of Economical and Social Sciences of the Scientifical Advisory Committe del GCMF-FAO. With a duration of 60 lective hours and 30 practical, developed at the Economical and Business Sciences Faculty of the University of Barcelona.
